  • It's funny... You were just talking about the iFixit and how it would be a good gift for someone, especially someone who is difficult to buy for... Well, I had that same thought seconds before sitting down to watch this video. I bought an iFixit set for the first time this week, and today I was forced to crack it open and actually use it. It's by far the BEST toolkit I've ever used. So just a few mins before watching this video I was thinking, that I should buy a set for my Dad this X-mas. But for real though... These iFixit sets are really that good.

  • lmfao you probably shorted the power on with all the moisture

  • Jay, I have the same thermal tape you have. And I did some tests with it. In all honesty, using regular double sided scotch tape is just as efficient, and less costly (meaning, it's more effective, and efficient to use double sided scotch tape). Just try to keep temps below 90-100C (depending on the tape), but they're good enough for anything from 0C-85C.

  • Hi any particular reason why you do the heat difference at the cpu/gpu. Couldn't you use a heat exchanger, keep the temperature cpu/you side above the dew point and have the chilled side below the dew point. I.e. having the cpu at a steady 25 degrees with the cold side having a below dew point temperature.

  • why don´t you use the curve function in afterburner to set a fix voltage to a specific frequency. you can set the vcore to 1.093 which is the max. I´m able to oc much further my 1070 like that - I have it game stable @ 2.152 mhz. if i don´t do that vcore drops to 1.081 and crashes. just changing voltage with the slider does nothing

  • at the end of the day PC building is something that technically anyone can do. At some point you just have to be happy with your score and move on. More and more gamers and PC builders are getting into bench marking. I don't have the money to buy a whole new system every year / generation to routinely stay at the top of benchmarks and most don't have the time.
