  • Jay, maybe you can consider asking the neighboring tenants in the complex if they would be willing to take your trash so that it can be thrown away with their's when the garbage cans gets emptied out. Sounds weird to maybe ask them that, but it's worth a shot.

  • I didn't know about the competition or the rules before Jay had posted his review video. I watched the recorded stream after watching a few secs of the review. As I have not seen Steves videos before the competition, perhaps one or two had popped in my recommend/search results, compared to how many vids I have seen of Jay, I hoped Jay would win. SPOILER ALERT!!! I think Steve's approach of taking the PC apart was a smart idea, even if it's generally time consuming. It proved to be the best way to see the hardware traps. It's clear to me that this competition was the first one they arranged of this type, as there were certain things they had not thought about. Was it really okey to clear the bios and skip a few traps? It didn't seem like they had considered that the PC could be run/tested outside the case. From what I could gather, they were also sceptical about the piece of paper Steve had infront of him. If the only piece of paper they could have infront of them, the scores of the benchmarks and the rules, then at least provide it with a seal of approval. Even if Jay took notice of the fans facing the wrong way, would it be okey if he didn't do anything about it? As far as I took notice, it was only Steves PC that did a Windows update, which I think is weird. Imo they should install the same Windows version on both, and perhaps turn off the auto update beforehand. If they don't turn it off, let the person who didn't update lose points. The winners are the charity and the viewers. Good job being such a good sport donating as well Jay. Since Steve just skipped the traps in the bios by resetting it, I feel like he took the easy way out, and that the organisers didn't realise that move was a possibility. I also wanted to see Jay find all the traps. Since that didn't end up happening I feel cheated by the quick ending. Anyways, it was exciting to watch, looking forward to the next one. I hope I get to see you compete again Jay. I also hope that Jay and Steve will be the organisers for a competition for Linus and the other guy. With rules like "can not take motherboard outside of case" ;).

  • You can literally make them eat shit with the garbage. If you are paying and can't get the garbage out and the other tenants in the complex are throwing out excess garbage. Policies may be different up here but I know if you are overweighting garbage they will make you pay quite a bit extra for removal. So in your position I would tell that garbage company first and show them before you talk to the landlord. Somethings the landlord sides with excess garbage producers and they will try to cover up to make it seem like nothing is going on and and go back to their old ways at the same time discrediting you. I worked in a few complexes like that, people go to war over this shit.

  • I really had no expectations on who would win. I do go back and forth on if there should be an asterisk next to the win for Steve though. On the one hand he didn't explicitly violate any rules but on the other hand, disassembling and re-assembleing a computer is not the same as diagnosing problems and troubleshooting a computer. He kind of circumvented the nature of the competition. Oh well, I suppose it's just one guy's opinion. It was good entertaining content nonetheless which is all that really matters.

  • It was an awesome show and since I didn't even know who Steve was, I was rooting for you to win. Next time, they need to go over the rules up front so everyone (including the viewers) know exactly how it's supposed to work. I didn't like Steve just discarding portions of the MB cover because he couldn't get it screwed back on and it prevented him from seating the graphics card. Also didn't like how he simply overclocked everything to meet benchmarks. Should be a rule that NO overclocking is allowed to ensure all issues are found/fixed properly because you can't meet the benchmarks otherwise.
