  • Looking at the way that aluminum block is machined would it be plausible to mod the top of the case to accept an air cooler but just bolted onto the passive cpu block....?

  • Well, there is other itx motherboard design their usb 3.0 and 24 pin header at the edge close to the front panel, and the designer of that case didn't expect some one make those header on other edges.

  • (1) Can you unscrew and turn the front panel upside-down? Looks like the USB ports aren't in the center, so the cable might clear the RAM. (2) I also have the AB350N-gaming motherboard, and found that the VRM really needs some air cooling to not get to crazy temps (I have an AIO). I'd suggest a different motherboard for this case. But in general, this is a very cool build!

  • I once had one of those Mini-PC DC to DC power supplies. Worthless junk! 12v rail is not regulated, 5v rail overheated (fried out), and that was only with a low-end Asus motherboard. Unless you plan to mount a full ATX power supply OUTSIDE of case, save your time and money.

  • Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200 would likely fit in that case. Adding a little length is fine, but too much and then you have too much cable and then that's a management issue. I'm sitting here with an ASRock B450 Gaming-ITX/ac and the layout looks like it addresses all those issues, 24Pin, USB3 and USB 2 headers are on the edge of the board in front of the DIMM slots, so those lengths would work fine. Still it sound like they need to do a better job documenting the cable lengths, placements and known obstructions - maybe a printable PDF - so people can check motherboards before paring them with this case.

  • Geez... Dedicated ram is needed only for buffer flipping, like vsync. On my 2400g there is no difference between 64M and 2G dedicated ram. 128M when I added another display. Linux drivers do not even move stuff to some "dedicated" part, GPU can access whole memory when needed. 2G or higher is just marketing, and you loose memory for other uses.

  • Unscrew the front panel, and rotate it. It might avoid the first bend of the cable and give you the extra cm. Maybe you can rotate the USBs too so you have them the right side up. Not that it will not take less then 3 times to plug it in correctly.

  • but would you want it in your home ? not me personally . but it can be modded quite a bit . an extension and a few tweaks and it would be okay . i could make it mine with a few mods . if i wanted it . but i like the look of the chassis /case . akasa was always overpriced by retailers but here it seems worth it if you like the case and modding pre fab cases which need seriously good cable managment . which if you know akasa ? they do component parts and cabling already .overpriced but hardy components and cabling . it seems good quality . but 3 x the price in a bag from ebay . though the budding pc builder can knock out custom modded wires without an issue . even a novice could do this with some research on cable thickness and current and connector tolerances. modding cables is easy . it is just something some do not trust themselves to do and rely on their own research and judgment . the Akasa case looks like a small desktop audio amplifier !
