I have been looking for the perfect ITX case for a while... today we take a look at the Silverstone LD03... this is an "ok" case but it has too many compromises...

  • I can’t remember if you’ve covered the Lian Li TU150. Not the smallest form factor, but seems to be one of the better itx options at this price point. I just did a build in one. Airflow is good. Not many options for rads, but can fit a big ass tower cooler.

  • I gone with COUGAR QBX case its a small form MINI ITX case that is 4 times larger then DAN case NO GLASS to worry about breaking. mesh panels dose help with venting out all that heat. it makes RGB look weird. check it out when newegg some times get it in stock I paid 55.00 + tax + shipping that CPU cooler that comes with AMD CPU will fit in that COUGAR QBX case with no problem what so ever. they did claim you can install a AIO on there. do not do it. its not going to work. it even got a vertical mount for a slim line slot blu-ray drive. a notebook blu-ray drive may fit however the power cable is not going to fit.

  • I agree on the compromises that are taken with this case. This was my 2nd pc build, and i built it before the side cutout LD03-AF revision. I had to buy Noctua 3000 rpm fans (the fastest and highest cfm in the market for 120mm) but it was too loud at max speed so i had to liquid cool. My zotac 2080 ti crapped out. RMA'ed a replacement. New card didn't fit. Had to liquid cool both the card and cpu with 2 alphacool rads and eisball. Couldn't fit 4 fans 2 rads, 1 eisball. Moved bottom fan outside. Custom cut a filter. One rad+fan inside each top/bottom. Better temperatures...less noise. But i didn't like that i had to spend so much on water cooling parts and having to place a fan outside.

    • I feel you I'm rocking an enermax ostrogg, the old one. It was 9 usd at fry's I think they went for 40, which isn't bad considering it's sturdy and has no real sharp edges. Other than it being old styling it works well and no it isn't pretty, this was the age of plexiglass siding. I have a fan bolted on the outside of it and more than one speed hole has been added.

  • Agree but don't be so soft with criticism, they're not kids but a company (run by adults) and as a business. Criticisms are like feedbacks, and pure honesty shines. Companies like Apple are gonna be scared of you but if they're in trouble, you would be the first one to personally reflect from it. Linus Tech Tips is one example where many companies even changed their software codes as exactly mentioned, described and advised by Anthony for example.

  • The NCase M1 is, as you said, smaller, but it *does* support a 240mm radiator (or even two of them if you're willing to mod it). As far as mini-ITX cases go this one just seems to waste so much space.

  • Can someone tell me the point of this case? I mean, it's only a bit smaller than a mid-tower case, still doesn't cool as well, wont accept long graphics cards, won't accept atx boards....

    Helmetman GamingHelmetman Gaming6 tháng trước
  • I feel like the case will have it's own group of people that will like it, me personally, I'm not a big fan. I like my Meshify C. As far as Silverstone, I do agree that they are a decent company but I feel like their selection of cases are usually cheap build quality. I built an AMD system in their Micro-ATX Precision case and it wasn't bad. I'd do it again if I had to. It doesn't really have the provisions for a sweet RGB build but my step dad wanted something powerful, small, and bland.

  • F'ng hurts my brain how much cases cost. The Level 10 started the craze imo. But even that... Like, the Level 10 GT was a monster case for like $250. The whole genre of PC gaming has become about getting boned in the ass for what...e-peen.? Multi hundred dollar keyboards and mice to multi thousand dollar monitors. Everyone gripes about GPU prices, but it's everything.

    • On the LD03-AF, yes, but not recommended. It's designed for convection (upward) cooling so i would assume it'd affect temperatures if you put it on its side.

      David NguyenDavid Nguyen5 tháng trước
  • Wow, I have a pretty cheap thermaltake case that is over 3 years old and it still doesn't get scratches or anything when I put it on its side and work on it. Also regarding the power cord case manufacturer's really need to find a better way of routing those extension cables and orientating the plug. I have this exact issue with a cooler master case but it can fit atx power supplies and still have issues where the cable has to be upside down and twisted around just to plug in.

  • A few thoughts, having spent a good bit of time on my own case design. 1. From what I'm seeing, the lack of rigidity is the result of a single rivet used to join two edges. If they made some of the edges on each side join with an L shape, allowing two rivets, it'd be far more rigid. 2. The most appropriate placement for the AIO is above the motherboard and PSU, next to the GPU - see the Ncase M1. In my design, I can fit up to a 280mm radiator with ease in this layout with ease and little wasted space. 3. That "hollow" space on top is necessary due to how much room cables require in order to make a 90 degree turn - easily 2-3" added to the overall height. I will agree the top could be modified a little to allow for the mounting of a fan on the outside, if desired.
