  • What am I going to do you ask?Very simple,I'm going to order that monster PC case that you did a review on,the Phanteks Enthoo 719 (PH-ES719LTG_DAG01) High Performance Full Tower Case, this coming summer and I'm going to buy the radiator, the combination reservoir/water pump and a water block little by little then once I have the things that I need and have set everything up for water cooling I'm going to buy a Gigabyte aorus x570 bundled with a ryzen cpu,the memory and a decent graphics card then I'll put it all together and I'll have myself a heck of a custom built PC.It will take me a while but I'm not going anywhere so far as I know so there's no rush.Thank you for another great video and God bless you and your family.

  • I would love to build a new system with a 5600x & a 3070 or AMD equivalent. My 1500x & 3GB (I know I regret it) MSI GTX 1060 Gaming X are still fine for what I've been playing though. So I'm gonna wait a couple more years if I can, use the money I have saved towards housing & my landscaping business. Then when everything else in my life is stable I'll get whatever is available at the time & hopefully a couple 1TB PCIE Gen 4 NVME SSD's.

  • Yep, I am currently running a 2600 that i bought with the plan to upgrade and sell when i could afford the higher thread count without hating myself.... I am at that point now and seeing the performance and considering my work load part of me is READY to pull the trigger... Unfortunately I do have an X370 motherboard and I'm NOT happy about that part at all. That is the one aspect that makes me lean more towards just waiting for 4th gen, on their new process. And i swear in one of the original keynote addresses at the 2017 launch they gauranteed their new (300) chipsets would stay in service for 4 years... Come on, I should have I should have like 2 or 3 more months left!!! ha

  • Im not crazy savvy with CPU info, can someone answer this for me please. All the benefits he mentions with lower latency for gaming, would this also be expected when using audio software like Ableton? Or is the way the CPU is used up to the software itself and not a huge improvement until the software takes advantage of the cpu abilities?

  • on an i7-8700k and I think I'm going to wait both Zen 3 and Rocket Lake out. Looks like Intel is finally moving on from Skylake next year and apparently Zen 3 will be the last iteration of AMD not to support DDR5. Just seems smart to wait it out this year. Also hopefully RTX 30 series will be at MSRP next year haha I'm sure games will still run fine on older hardware, since I'm sure most games will be cross-gen for the first year.

  • I am lost here, AMD website states that X570 is compatible with new 5000 series. As an opposite they labelled the X470 as 'selective Beta BIOS needed' for compatibility. Yet on every x570 brand website, you see an update of the BIOS for 5000 series support. Some website also recommend to do BIOS upgrade to even run the 5000 series even on a 570 MOBO. It is a bit of an overstatement to say 'X570 will fully support 5000 series", it is also a bit of a marketing talk to label the compatibility of X570 and 5000 series as a check mark on AMD website and label the 470 as 'Selective Beta BIOS needed'. It gives the impression that you do not need any BIOS Update for X570, which is false. Regardless of your motherboard you will need a BIOS update or make sure if you do not own a X570 yet that the retailer will have the BIOS updated for your. If you are not used to do those procedure and wanted to have the X570 / 5000 combo, do your research before buying.

  • I doubt Intel give a flying duck TBH. They have about 95% of he business market. Server farms. I know some big names moved earlier this year - but almost all of the largest server suppliers as yet don't even offer an AMD option - and for the next 10 years are not likely to (as they are on long term contracts for upgrades and support) My old company spends about 35 million a year on server upgrades running ERP systems. The fear from the Intel reps I used to see is from ARM chips. AMD is not even in the equation - and isn't realistically ever going to be. Same for all our competitors and our business vertical and horizontals along with anyone else in any business I've ever dealt with. If you said "We have AMD servers" you'd be laughed out of the office,. Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that's good. That sort of brand blindness is bad for everyone. But Intel get these massive international companies signed into very long term contracts. A the time I last had contact with my old business (before shut down this year) they had almost 9 years to run on their current 10 year Intel contract and that included 2 full CPU upgrade cycles. Once it's up - they'll sign up for another 10 years. No-one in the buying department would consider moving away from Intel. If something went wrong the guy who brought in the "new untested tech" would be for the high jump. Fetching his or her P45 and emptying their desk the same day. A new supplier is just too damn risky. When threatened Intel cut prices all the time. As soon as there is a whisper of ARM coming in with a viable option from a good brand name that even none tech people have heard of (Like Samsung) - miraculously Intel are offering free CPU updates on all servers and 30% off next year's support contract. AMD is a name no-one outside tech has heard of. Amazing if you are on VIworld tech channels. Everyone here has heard of them. It's easy to imagine that the brand is ubiquitous outside of tech circles as well. "It's AMD - come on, everyone has heard of AMD... haven't they? Ok not everyone then. But if you've heard of Intel you've heard of AMD surely.. No? really" AMD is not well known at all. It really isn't Virtually no one outside tech knows about AMD. Intel have their brand all over TV for 25 years. The old Blue Man Group ads, The 3 tone jingle, "Intel Inside" They've been building brand since the mid 1990's Outside of VIworld and tech websites I have never seen an AMD advert for anything - anywhere (well actually on the boxes of their products I suppose - but with hardly any box selling stores any more even that has virtually no brand impact these days) AMD might think they are saving money on branding and advertising. But the brand Intel has spent money building is invaluable to them. It's basically bought them a very large "hard" market that AMD won't be able to get even a moderate slice of for perhaps a decade or more even if Intel continue to underperform.

The plan is for a 1440p / 144Hz gaming rig: RTX 3080 (if they're in stock ever again), Ryzen5 5600X (since I shouldn't be CPU-bottlenecked at 1440p), and some DDR4 3600 RAM. • I probably gonna upgrade to AMD. In the old days (where was that line) AMD was the go-to CPU if you were a gamer. After the Anthlon they lost me as a gamer, and I went to Intel. But last year I upgraded from the 4000 series to the 8700k, and I didn't feel like it was the great upgrade I expected. It feels sluggish, rendering times in Adobe Premiere didn't get the jump I expected (especially when you edit 4K footage) and it felt like I had spent a lot of money but didn't get my expected performance. Long story short. Yes, I think at the beginning of next year I will switch back to AMD after 14 years of intel. Let's hope it's as good as they say.

  • 1:16 Wait, there was a 4000 series? I guess it was similar to Intels 5000 series / 5th gen (add to that the 4790k was like 4.5th gen that actually was the only 4th gen which was any faster than the 3rd gen as in benchmarks the 4770 was performing almost exactly as the 3770 did, heck I even remember seeing the Haswells being slower). Literally nonexistant if you don't look for laptops... 13:07 $449 which probably will be like 600€ for 8 cores HT at 3.8->4.7 where I can get a 10700k for 350€ which also has 8 cores HT at 3.8->5.1, but only 16MB of cache as opposed to twice of that which the AMD has. And the Intel is stone age 14nm, drawing a lot more from the wall and consequently form your wallet, generating more heat and probably leaving less headroom for overclocking. If the AMD was at the same price level, it would be such a no-brainer. I'll wait for benchmarks to see which will be better for DCS, but the AMD will probably simply be out of the range of my wallet when I'm gonna get a new rig next year, when hopefully the Intel 11th gen are out as well. And I don't want to go with less than 8 cores. It's great to be not a fanboi of any brand. I had an Intel 486, a P133, a C366 and the 3570k I am writing this on. All the others in between have been AMD, which were an 80MHz 486, a K6-2 350, an A600, an A900, an A1400, an AXP1800+, an AXP2500+, an A64X2 4400+ and a PIIX4 955. 15:07 Me too... :)
